Recognising that no book stands alone, that a notion of where it comes from and where it is going is of great interest to the reader, we present behind each book a context of experience and culture, a Hinterland.

REVIEW FROM AM BRATACH

We were delighted to find this review in Sutherland’s monthly magazine AM BRATACH, and even more delighted to learn that it comes from the pen (okay, keyboard) of Kevin Crowe, the lively proprietor of the LOCH CROISPOL BOOKSHOP in Durness.  Kevin and his partner Simon have, over many years, established one of the friendliest and best stocked independent bookshops in Scotland.  They are also trying their hands at publishing these days.  If the weather is poor, stay off the hills and enjoy a well-spent day browsing their shelves.  If you have a good week take a rest day at the end - it will be worth it.  Antony Kamm’s brilliant survey of Scottish publishing has had reviews in bigger magazines, but never one more suited to its subject.
