GETTING THE NEWS OUT

Posted by RLD on 27th November 2008

In a new ‘first’ we are delighted to present a podcast interview between Chris McIvor, author of A BEND IN THE NILE, and Sandstone’s Moira Forsyth.  The interview was conducted before a live audience at Eden Court Theatre, Inverness, and recorded by Hi-Arts’ Jim McAuslan.  Chris discusses his early (in his own word) ‘naive’ experiences in Sudan, and alludes to his career in development that lay ahead and which will be the subject of future books.  The interview runs for half an hour and can be accesed at Hi-Arts’ NORTHINGS web site here http://www.hi-arts.co.uk/podcast as NORTHINGS 4: A BEND IN THE NILE.

SAVE THE CHILDREN has placed an article about Chris McIvor’s book A BEND IN THE NILE in its online library and you can access it at http://www.savethechildren.org.uk/en/54_7061.htm

THE KERRACHER MAN is still available in Waterstones as part of the bookshop’s 3 for 2 promotion, and still selling strongly.  Eric MacLeod’s warm hearted story of family living in remote West Sutherland is proving wonderfully popular.

We hear that SCOTTISH PRINTED BOOKS sold well from the National Library of Scotland shelves at the Edinburgh International Book Festival.  Soon the NLS will have their own shop in the King George IV Building in Edinburgh and it should be quite something to visit.

The second print run of BETWEEN WEATHERS will be with our Distributor in a few days.  To those who are waiting patiently we thank you for your understanding.
