Robert Burns and the Year of Homecoming

Posted by RLD on 16th January 2009

The Year of Homecoming has properly begun and FICKLE MAN is on the streets!  In the words of coeditor Gerard Carruthers in his major article in the Saturday Herald the book ’ presents essays in a wider than normal cultural and critical context’.  It is also the most beautiful book to appear in Scotland for manies the long year.  Both Gerard and Johnny Rodger are appearing at Glasgow University’s conference ‘Robert Burns 1759 to 2009’ between 15th and 17th January, as is FICKLE MAN.  Visit http://www.gla.ac.uk/departments/robertburnsstudies/conference

FICKLE MAN is available at Borders and Waterstones throughout Scotland, independent bookshops, and on Amazon.

Our new e-catalogue can be downloaded from the link above.  Please take time to browse this web site, and don’t forget the hinterland of articles, extracts and reviews behind each book page.  Both A BEND IN THE NILE and BETWEEN WEATHERS have significant additions.
