Robert Burns and the Year of Homecoming
The Year of Homecoming has properly begun and FICKLE MAN is on the streets! In the words of coeditor Gerard Carruthers in his major article in the Saturday Herald the book ’ presents essays in a wider than normal cultural and critical context’. It is also the most beautiful book to appear in Scotland for manies the long year. Both Gerard and Johnny Rodger are appearing at Glasgow University’s conference ‘Robert Burns 1759 to 2009’ between 15th and 17th January, as is FICKLE MAN.
