CAN YOU REMEMBER THE FIRST BOOK YOU READ?
This article by Moira Forsyth was published on the Hi-Arts web site, ‘Northings’, in June 2005 after the launch of the second issue of the Vista Series.
Can you remember the first book you read, all the way through? Mairi can. She remembers it well because she read it so recently. Mairi is in her thirties. Her first book was Blood Red Roses, by Lin Anderson. Blood Red Roses is a novella commissioned by Sandstone Press for the second issue of the Vista Series. The Vistas are books created for people like Mairi who come late to reading, and have until now found it impossible to get hold of adult stories, rather than children’s books.

INTERVIEW WITH DES DILLON AND SUHAYL SAADI
At the Celebration of Learning in Inverness on 2nd December 2004 authors Des Dillon and Suhayl Saadi took time to speak to two readers about their work. As well as talking about the influences on their writing Des spoke about his novel from the forthcoming Vista series “The Blue Hen”.
